Internships
Internships with the Murfreesboro Technology Council
The Murfreesboro Technology Council partners with Middle Tennessee State University to offer internships that give students real, hands-on experience across multiple technology industries — while building the professional and personal network that launches a career.
What an MTC internship looks like
MTC interns work alongside technology leaders from across Rutherford County: CIOs, CISOs, engineers, founders, and educators. Because MTC sits at the centre of the regional tech community rather than inside a single company, interns get exposure to a genuinely broad slice of the industry — data centers, healthcare technology, cybersecurity, software, communications, and civic technology — instead of one narrow lane.
What you gain
- Breadth of experience across multiple technology industries in one internship.
- A professional network built through our monthly MTC Engage events, education sessions, and partner organisations.
- Real ownership — interns contribute to live event planning, communications, the MTC website, and community outreach.
- Mentorship from working technology executives across Middle Tennessee.
Who it is for
Primarily MTSU students exploring careers in technology — from computer science and information systems to marketing, communications, and business students who want to work in the technology sector.
