Event Details
Speaker: Shaun Willis

Shaun Willis is a Full-Stack Web Developer @Charter Spectrum, Worship Leader, Father, Husband, former booking agent, and forklift operator. He’s seen as an ambitious but pragmatic developer who pushes his brain beyond his own expectations & capacity. His tech is JavaScript, PHP, and Ruby. His frameworks consist of Vue.js, Ember.js, React.js, Express.js, Adonis.js, Node.js, Ruby on Rails, Laravel, WordPress & CraftCMS.

In this talk, we will walk through all the various challenges my team faced while we began migrating over our entire application from Node.js to Ruby on Rails, why we chose RoR over all the other languages & frameworks, pro, and cons that our team saw in making the plunge, where my team is at currently in the process, and where we are planning to go in the future.
